Lately I have sensed God asking for more of my time.
But sometimes I just don’t feel like giving it.
I know what you’re thinking, “How could she say that?”.
But it’s true.
Finding time to pray and get in my Bible just seems like less and less of a priority. In the busyness of the day, I find myself putting my relationship with God on the back burner.
And it hurts.
I was getting fed up with myself, so I made a commitment to wake up earlier today and spend time with the Lord.
My alarm went off, and I snoozed it for 15 minutes.
Then 15 more.
Then I really needed to wake up.
I started my day covered with the regret of valuing extra sleep over time with my Savior. And my heart still feels heavy while typing these words.
I’m not writing this to discourage you. But rather, to encourage you.
Because a walk with the Lord means sometimes we will fall short of our own expectations. And other times, we will feel on fire for God and closer than ever.
But life happens in seasons.
And God is still so gracious and loving through our stumblings as we walk with Him.
His love for us is steadfast.
It does not hinge itself to our ability to be “good enough for God”. Because, quite frankly, no one is “good enough”. We are all sinners in need of Jesus’ blood and redemption.
So wherever you find yourself today in your walk with Christ, remember this:
God loves you anyways.
No matter how far gone we may feel, He is always close to us.
If you feel you have fallen short in some way, just keep walking. Just keep trying.
Because every single moment is a fresh start. It is a new opportunity to love God even deeper.
Praying for you,
Jasmine
