I don’t know why she does it.
There is a chair in our home. It’s cozy and oversized and rightly named “the nursing chair”.
This is the place where I feed, change, and read stories to my daughter.
For some reason, my adventurous, wild child will smile, stand herself up on the chair’s back and throw herself forward towards me (I’m now sitting on the floor) and leap from the chair.
Now maybe I’m missing out, and it really is fun to almost fall out of a chair. Or maybe she just still needs to learn about gravity. But whatever the reason, I catch her every time.
And she knows that I will.
As long as I’m there, she won’t fall.
This is true for a few reasons:
-I’m at the foot of the chair ready to catch her.
-I’m paying attention.
-I deeply treasure my daughter and care about her safety.
Now, you may be wondering how leaping from a chair relates to a walk with God. But you see, we are all daughters and sons.
The Lord is our Heavenly Father and cares so deeply about us. He is ever present, ever attentive, and ever loving.
So we can step out in faith. We can leap towards our God without fear of falling.
For He will always catch us.
Until another moment,
~Jasmine
