Changing Seasons

It’s happening.

There is a lengthening to the days, and a warmth to the afternoons.

The season is changing. Although not in the way you would expect. For me, springtime is not the only change to come as one season shifts to another.

But very soon, our family will welcome another child into the world.

I can sense the change in the air, much like the feeling that grows in my spirit when my outer world starts to shift. And my inner world is shifting as well.

My abdomen has grown and stretched. We too have grown and prepared a place for our new child.

And in my heart, I am preparing as well. As one tills the earth to prepare for a garden. Instead I am tilling the soil of my heart to be soft and open. Ready to accept this new life and who I will become as a mother of three.

With each child, I have needed to grow. To continue changing and adapting as seed after seed was planted.

One seed we never saw to fruition and rests with the Lord.

The second seed sleeps peacefully in her bed now.

The third seed awaits the great harvest day, when they will be birthed from soil and into the sun.

So, patiently I wait. For the promise of God to be fulfilled. For another seed to love and nurture.

It seems that all of life is filled with seasons, and our Lord sees us through. Whether we are in a winter, spring, summer, or fall.

He remains good through it all.

Until another moment,

Jasmine
