I felt totally at peace.
My children were eating breakfast in the kitchen and I was sitting at the table smiling over at them. The golden glow of winter sunlight dazzled outside.
I closed my eyes, smiling while the light warmed my face.
I opened them again to gaze lovingly at my babies. I could see the light shining off my face as I smiled their way.
In this moment in the light, I felt happy, loved, and like my truest self. And I felt these words spoken to my heart,
“You are most beautiful in the light.”
This is not only external beauty, but internal as well.
Everywhere we look, the world tells us what is beautiful in it’s own light. And when we decide to fall for the deception that this is, we wonder why we never feel good enough.
Then I saw in my minds eye the image of a gemstone. Perfectly cut to refract and reflect the light, allowing it to shimmer and shine. The same is true for us.
The Lord designed every facet of who we are. And we shine our brightest, and our true inner beauty sparkles in His light alone. In this glorious light we are seen, loved, and don’t have to worry about being good enough.
Because Jesus died for us on the cross, and washed us clean with His blood. We are blameless in God’s sight. All we need to is accept this salvation through faith in Him, turning our faces back to the light. And we will shine God’s light into the world.
As beautiful, shimmering reminders of His love.
Until another moment,
Jasmine
