“For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
-John 3:20-21
Is your life in the light?
I was driving one morning and noticed the last star fading from view as the sun rose. And I came to a shocking conclusion. The stars and darkness never leave. Space remains black, and the stars keep shining.
But as the world turns towards the sun, night fades, and we are hidden in the light instead of in darkness.
The sky turns blue, and all is seen clearly.
It is the same with our Lord.
Are you proud of the life you lead when the lights come on? Or would you rather continue in darkness?
We all fall short and come to a point of needing to turn back to God. But we must choose humility to do so.
It is only then that the light of Christ can shine on us and chase the darkness away.
We were made to be children of the light, at peace and content with nothing to hide.
Turn towards the Son and you will find a golden crown of light where a veil of darkness once was. For we are fully seen by God and also fully loved.
It is never too late.
My Lord Jesus,
I turn from the darkness I’ve been walking in. Shine your light upon me and forgive me. I surrender to your brilliant light. Thank you for giving me new life. I give it all to you.
In your name,
Amen
