“Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,”
-Isaiah 46:9-10
Who is like the Lord?
What person on this earth could compare to Him?
It can be hard to remember when the demands of life press in. That there is One worthy of our worship. We may exalt our spouses or children or role models. Giving them our time, attention, praise, and adoration.
This is good, but there is One who comes before. Who we are to seek first.
The Lord Jesus above all other names.
There is no good deed man can do that compares to the One Who saved the world from its sin.
There is no depth of human love able to reach the bottom of God’s love.
There is no saint-like patience able to outstand the Lord’s.
There is no great strength able to crush the mighty arm of God.
There is no more selfless a love than that of Jesus. Willing to die for broken sinners.
Can anyone or anything compare to God?
Is there another like Him?
Who else can satisfy the deepest desires of our hearts?
Only one who resides within its depths can know how to meet our needs. Whether spoken or unspoken.
Who else can speak of things to come in the most ancient of days? The book of time itself is in His hands. With a hand on the beginning cover and the end.
It may be hard to surrender to God knowing that He is doing what pleases Him. But we must remember what actually pleases our God.
His delight is to see us smile. To work good together. To defeat darkness. To gather His sheep to Himself. To strengthen the weak. To heal the sick. To receive our love and praise. To make all things new.
His heart is so pure, and there is no greater plan than His.
There is no one like Him.
Lord Jesus,
Thank you for being a God that no one compares to. You are unmatched in your glory and in your love. I surrender into your arms that do not falter. I surrender my will to your perfect plan.
In your name,
Amen
