“He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”
-Psalm 23:2-3
Are you tired?
In this busy wild world, we need rest.
So much so that the Lord makes us to lie down in green pastures. Out of the kindness of His heart, He tends to us. Knowing what we need.
Has something ever happened to you that forced a state of rest?
For myself, I recently injured my shoulder and have been needing to slow down and rest more. Although the injury was entirely my fault, God is using it to slow me down. To draw me to His rest.
In this rest, something special happens.
Our souls are restored.
We have been taught that the body needs rest to reset and recover. But our soul needs restoration as well.
This happens not in when we rest, but in whom we rest.
To rest in the presence of Jesus is to restore our souls. It is here He can work in our innermost being. To bring refreshment, healing, and rest.
Does your soul need restoration?
Is your spirit tired as well?
Come and rest in His loving presence and be restored.
In His faithfulness, God not only causes us to rest and be restored. But He continues on knowing that when we awaken, we will need to be lead. Onward, through this dark and difficult world, He leads us.
For He is the good Shepherd, our provider, our protector, our comforter, our peace, our joy, and our strength.
He is always true to His name.
Lord Jesus,
Thank you for causing me to rest and for restoring my soul. I am in desperate need of you. Lead me on in your faithfulness, and I will follow you.
In your name,
Amen
