Only One

There is a problem.

A common thread in the believing and unbelieving body.

The issue lies in the fact that God is represented by His people.

But, God is not His people. I will say it again, God is not His people.

Whether we as followers of Christ are a true or untrue reflection of the One who made us is not God’s fault.

We fell to sin and live with imperfections. We mistreat others in our own pain.

But He is not like us.

The Lord says that His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9).

We worship the Lord because He is greater in every area that we fail:

He is Holy.

Perfect.

Worthy of praise.

The embodiment of Love.

Unfailing.

Incorruptible.

It breaks my heart to see people turn away from Christ because of His people. Walking with the Lord means we have a great responsibility. And our actions either represent a clear or clouded reflection of God.

But the beauty is this.

We have a direct connection to the true source. To the hands and heart and spirit that formed us. And we can take comfort in this:

Every wound we’ve received or mistake made by the people around us, is not an accurate reflection of God. The Lord will never:

Fail us.

Hurt us.

Leave us.

Ridicule us.

Hate us.

Misinterpret us.

Manipulate us.

Lie to us.

Underestimate us.

Or Condemn us.

He is the only One who is perfectly pure. His face shines clearly for all to see, for He is not the reflection. He is the Image. And no amount of worldly stain can corrupt His perfection.

Until another moment,

Jasmine
