There was a time in my life, when everything had fallen apart. A time when I didn’t know what I wanted to do, or where God was leading me. I had essentially jumped from a cliff following the leading of my heart, and I was lost.
A friend sent me a link to listen to a song. One line from it rang true:
“Though the seasons change, your love remains.”
This song has been pivotal throughout my life. I find that just about once a season it comes on one of my playlists, and I find that the season around me has changed.
I hear it and see the new buds of leaves, or the flush of summer, the golden grandeur of fall, or the icy crystal of winter; and I remember.
God’s love remains.
When I am in seasons of waiting, seasons of grief, seasons of joy, seasons of loneliness, seasons of opportunity, or seasons of bleakness; I remember again.
God’s love remains.
It seems that so much of life is learning to adapt to the seasons of life. It is learning to simultaneously thank God for everything in life, but not to hold to anything too tightly. It seems that the only constant in this life is change.
In every season and every change that I find myself in, I am brought back to the steadfastness of God.
He never changes. He may do new things and work in mysterious ways, but his heart and the core of his character remains.
He remains faithful.
He remains good.
He remains loving.
He remains merciful.
He remains true.
He remains Holy.
He remains just.
He remains All-Powerful.
He remains God.
Whatever season of life you find yourself in today, remember:
His love remains.
Love,
Jasmine
